Name: Ben Clark
Title: Manufacturing Operations Intern
University: University of Cincinnati

What inspired you to pursue an internship with Didion?

During High school, I spent a lot of time around the Didion family and got to be a part of that family-based culture. Didion has been a huge part of my family’s life the last couple of years and I thought it would be awesome to have my first professional experience be at Didion.

What is your main focus as an Operations Intern?

As an Operations Intern, I work closely with both the Administrative team and the Operators in each department. I help identify and implement new ways to improve different processes to help improve safety, efficiency, and our profits.

How does your experience compliment your studies?

As an Operations Management student who is also studying Professional Sales, my work has fit perfectly with what I’m studying in school. I have gotten to see what it takes to run a business, like Didion, on a day to day basis, as well as the Sales side of the business. Both sides have taught me a lot and lined up perfectly to what I have been learning in school.

What have you enjoyed the most about your internship with Didion?

The thing I have to say that I enjoy most about Didion is the people and the culture that surrounds this company. They talked a lot about how Didion was different when I first got here and I noticed it right away. Everyone that works for this company values safety, each other, and our community. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to work with the group that I have worked with.

What new trainings/skills have you acquired through your experience?

I have had exposure to learn so many useful tools that I will be able to use for the rest of my life. Time management, communication, and efficiency have probably the three biggest skills that I have really gotten to master over the course of my internship. Those are skills that I can not only use in the business world, but in my personal life and school as well.

Looking ahead to the future, what are your career goals?

My goals in the future would be to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management and later go on to Law school in order to study to become a corporate attorney.

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?
